Volunteer Drivers Needed

We are struggling to keep up with the demand for emergency food parcels and food for our services in terms of collection & delivery.

We can work around your schedule, most collections are very flexible and are in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Emergency food parcels are as and when they are needed - however, we give hours of notice.

Our volunteers communicate via WhatsApp, please download WhatsApp on your phone to be a volunteer. All information on collection times and days will be posted in the group chat

We do require food hygiene training and a DBS, however, we can provide this if you don’t have them.

We are in desperate need of some more helping hands, you can claim mileage back after every collection and delivery

Feel free to call, email, or message our Facebook to arrange an in-person chat or for more information

What's Been Happening?

Summer Playscheme

Summer playscheme was a blast!

Below are just a handful of pictures of some of the activities the children loved to get involved with... Including the Youth Workers too!

Forest School during Summer

Forest School pics from over Summer Playscheme! We have had a brilliant time! Thank you all for coming and taking part

We’ve cooked hot dogs, foxy pizzas, and s’mores over the fire, we’ve done lots of mini beast identifying, making bug houses, and nature wheels, having a go at using tools with assistance, learning how to make fires and playing fun games in the woodland!

PGL Residentials for Over 12's

Our Over 12's had a fab weekend at PGL, they got stuck in with all sorts of activities including Zip wire, Laser tag, Rock climbing, The Giant Swing, Axe throwing, and much more!

The Sherwood Fundraiser

The Sherwood Pub which is a local to our community has raised an enormous amount of money for us here at The Social Action Hub. The fundraiser was to raise funds for food provision and emergency food parcels.

It was a great turnout out and we are extremely grateful for everyone's support thank you to The Sherwood Pub for hosting this event.

Counselling Sessions

The Social Action Hub is offering FREE counselling sessions on Thursday evenings & Saturday mornings delivered by Paul Ainger.

Anyone can refer, our main focus is on targeting men’s mental health, however, everyone is welcome to book for counselling sessions.

Often counselling can give you the space to safely explore confusion, pain, anger, and sadness and connect to the powerful feelings that can arise following abuse, oppression, trauma or bereavement. Or it can simply help you get to know yourself better. It’s all about finding the right therapeutic relationship that helps you feel safe enough to explore yourself and your world.

Would you like a check-in with a qualified counsellor?

Fill in a referral form to book a mental health support session below:
